    Description

From research, this appears to be a late 1800s Japanese candle floor lantern.
    12 inches in diameter.
    32 inches tall.
There is a drawer in the base for something? Small soft sticks are in it. I imagine a system to light the candle(s).
There is a holder in the middle but it seem high for a single candle. Perhaps this used two candles or the holder is for incense.
The paper is in excellent condition.
The wood frame is good, fairly secure. I do not know if it is bamboo, that is certainly possible.
There is wear and tear. Small chips and holes.
The drawer stop is gone so it will slip inside.
One side guide for the drawer is loose.
It looks like the back top drawer cover frame piece is missing.
The main body it a two piece system where the outer ring rotates so you can access the burner area.
It does not simply rotate, you need to carefully lift the outer shade up to rotate.
Probably warped after all these years.
This will ship FedEx and it is oversize.
A secure package will be large and spendy to ship.
