This Black Metal Fireplace Insert will start to flicker with a simple on off switch at the bottom. It operates with a common 3 volt cell battery and a flickering LED bulb that casts a soft red flickering effect under the attached "coal" pieces. The insert is made of metal and is painted a glossy black. A great accessory for the dollhouse fireplace, especially when wiring isn't desired. The bulb is not replaceable but is said to provide 4000 - 5000 hours of use and the battery is very easy to replace by unscrewing the base and replacing with the new one included.
