    Ernest "Ernie" Green
(born October 15, 1938) is a former American football fullback for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Green is a 1958 graduate of Spencer High School. He was a star running back on the school's football team, senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society. He was honored as the first Greenwave football player to have his jersey number retired on January 20, 2018.
Green attended the University of Louisville from 1958 to 1961, rushing for more than 1,500 yards in his college football career with the Cardinals and twice leading the team in that department, Earning him all American honors. He also excelled in baseball, spurning contract offers in order to remain on the gridiron.
Iin 1962 the reigning world champion Green Bay Packers drafted Green in the 14th round of the 1962 NFL Draft, but during training camp they traded him to the Cleveland Browns where he would make a name for himself as one of the league's top running backs.
After seeing only limited action as a rookie in 1962, Green was installed in the Cleveland backfield the following year alongside legendary Hall of Famer Jim Brown. He finished his first full season of action with 526 rushing yards, and also caught 28 passes out of the backfield. Even more importantly, he also helped open holes for Brown to gain a then-NFL record 1,863 yards. In 1964, the two helped the Browns capture their fourth NFL championship, capping the year with a stunning 27-0 shutout of the Baltimore Colts at the 1964 NFL Championship Game.
Following Brown's retirement in July 1966, Green was switched from halfback to fullback and teamed with another future Hall of Famer, Leroy Kelly, to continue to give Cleveland one of the most dangerous backfield combinations in the NFL. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the next two seasons, and was twice named an NFL All-Pro.
In August 1968, Green injured his knee during a preseason contest in Los Angeles and missed the next two months. On his return, he saw only limited action due to lingering problems with the knee. Just after the end of the season, he underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage in the troublesome knee but was then advised to retire. He followed that advice and accepted the Browns' offer to coach their running backs.
In his seven-year NFL career, he gained 3,204 yards and caught 179 passes out of the backfield.
Green was Assistant Vice-President for Student Affairs at Case Western Reserve University from 1970 to 1974. He was Executive Director and Vice-President of IMG's Team Sports Division from 1974 to 1981. He left IMG to establish EG Industries (EGI) which originally manufactured components for the automotive industry in suburban Dayton, Ohio. Currently based in Columbus, Ohio, EGI branched out into parts for medical, consumer, energy and industrial devices. He has served on the board of directors of various enterprises including Eaton Corporation, Dayton Power & Light and the Duriron Company.
    1964 Cleveland Browns Team
The Browns were led by Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown who had a stellar regular season, rushing for 1,446 yards with a 5.2 yards/carry average. Although they had a great rushing game, the Browns had a very balanced offense, choosing not to just hand the ball to Brown on every play. The quarterback of the team was Frank Ryan who had a decent season throwing for 2,404 yards and 25 touchdowns while throwing 19 interceptions. The top receivers of the team were Paul Warfield and Gary Collins, the second of whom would become a legend by catching three touchdowns in the championship game against the heavily favored Baltimore Colts.
Leading into the game, the Browns were huge underdogs. Most experts had them losing by double digits. Baltimore was so heavily favored that after the Browns won the game, Sports Illustrated had to scramble to find a picture of a Browns player to put on its cover. Baltimore had the league's best offense and had a league best record of 12?2. They were stacked with future Hall of Famers such as Johnny Unitas, Lenny Moore, and John Mackey. The Browns though, were unfazed by the apparent talent disparity and Jim Brown was reported stating before the game, "we're going to kick their [butt] today."
The game-time temperature that day was 34 degrees and felt much colder in 15- to 25-mph winds whipping under gray December sky. The Municipal Stadium crowd of 79,544 was the second largest in NFL title-game history at the time. The Browns knew that if they wanted to be in the game they had to make a statement early on, and they did just that. Galen Fiss, the Browns team captain, broke up a screen pass from Unitas to Moore, sending Moore airborne for a loss. The Browns tenacity on defense is what got them to the half time score of 0?0. Brown's running back Ernie Green reported after the game about half time, "We cleaned ourselves and sat down, and it seemed like something came over all of us. I think we all kind of looked at each other and concluded, 'Hey, we can beat these guys.'" Not only did the Browns "beat" the Colts in the second half, They destroyed them, scoring 27 unanswered points. Gary Collins became a Cleveland Browns legend by catching three touch down passes, the third one being a 51-yarder with Colts defender Bobby Boyd all over him. The biggest story of the game was how well Cleveland's defense played against Baltimore's heralded offense. Cleveland was able to hold Unitas to just 95 yards while intercepting him twice.
    About Us
We have been in the autograph and memorabilia business for over 35 years. All of our autographs were acquired in person. To guarantee that our items were authentically obtained, we have done work for or attended over three hundred charity-celebrity golf outings in the last ten years We have booked numerous sports stars to signings. Our inventory numbers several thousands of items.  We have earned a great reputation through the high quality products that we offer for sale.
In 1993 we were approached by Heisman trophy winner, Vic Janowicz to produce an art print for him to be used for charity functions. It was because of Vic's first print that we began to commission artists to create high quality action prints of other famous athletes. The majority of the pieces that were produced by our company are signed and numbered by the artist and then authentically autographed by the athlete or athletes. All of our items come with a certificate of authenticity providing you with a guarantee without time limit.
Unlike most "limited edition prints" where the number of prints made is usually between 500 to 200
0, most of our prints were produced in smaller quantities. Our average print run on each lithograph is normally under 150 with some of our runs are
    as low as 60
. Our small production runs have caused the value of some of our prints to soar in value to over ten times their original retail sale price. Some of our "sold out" prints, which originally retailed for forty dollars, have been sold for as high as six hundred dollars.
We produce a small production run of each limited edition print, so that your purchase becomes a collectors item, as well as an attractive addition to your home or office.
Even though we offer memorabilia for all sports, this site mainly displays Ohio State and Cleveland Browns memorabilia. As a company, we have produced more approved art prints for Ohio State than all the other artists combined in the history of the school. If you would like information on memorabilia that we have for other teams or sports, please email us. We welcome any more questions that you might have about our items or our company.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ONLY OFFER COA's FOR OUR PERSONALLY PRODUCED ART PRINTS.
